I haven't tried one since September, hard to improve on that schedule. Time seems to be my enemy. One of these days I'll get back on that horse. Let ya know how it goes. Thx! I recommend 3ea 1/2 Oz shots of a fine bourbon in the hour before you start. Spread it out. The relaxation will bring focus and patience. Not kidding. After 90 minutes the maintenance does is 1/2 Oz every 30 minutes. I once won a horseshoes tournament using this method. The match ended after I threw at least a dozen ringers in a row. Yes, there is a lot of truth to that. Instead of alcohol, which I am in no way against, I usually recommend music as a way to unwind and get into the the zone. Alcohol will really effect those small hand to eye movements.

Some nice looking wraps and some nice looking cabs! I noticed on some of the copper wraps the wire seems to have thin diagonal stripes. It is most noticeable on the Parrot Wing piece. Are the stripes actually there, or is it just some weird camera artifact? Looks like the wire was twisted and then put thru a draw plate to make it square again. It is an interesting look, but seems like a lot of work!

The effect in person is to put some sparkle on the wire- looks kinda diamond cut or something. I always twist soft wire to make it about half hard. I do it for a whole host of reasons. When the pattern is evident, and it isn't always, I keep the wires lined up so they go in the same direction. Makes a nice effect. The wire is completely smooth, yet has a cut look. I use almost exclusively round wire.

Very beautiful as always. I would have thought that the value of a piece would be determined more by the beautiful work involved than the stone or wire used.
Peace,
Rich

Peace, Rich I have 2 kinds of customers- collectors and people who just love jewelry. I try to strike a happy balance. But, I find, and rightly so, that an expensive stone just gets a better price. Most people, believe it or not, don't place a lot of work in what you do with your hands. That's just the way it seems. Unfortunately. However, there are some people that really value what you do and I tend to find those customers. Thank goodness. I love my clients!
