Wow, colorful material! I've found few like that second one too. Unsure if it's a rhyolite or wood. We had a location back in Commiefornia where the wife and I went to collect pretty rock for our gardens. Had wood there for sure but some of the banded material seemed to be a wood look alike rhyolite. Both were hard and took a similar polish but the one type just looked a bit off for pet wood. Banding looked good but the wood structures, vascular bundles etc were just not present....Mel

Yep, the flesh colored one. Was it definitely wood looking on the exterior before tumbling. The Eagle Pass cobbles are always too water worn to see what the outside looked like before it was river tumbled.....Mel
