Always enjoy the corals but this one really caught my eye. Is it a Texas find? Chuck

Cool batch, great shine. Love the coral starbursts, and the fortification agate, and the striated one with the white undercut. What's the pure white one?

that 2nd one is cool with that clear streak with yellow bubbles. Yellow bubbles is good stuff.

Actually, now that I see it on the computer rather than my phone, that coral in the first pic is awesome too!

Drummond Island RocksYes a Texas find Chuck. It was broken out of a 2-3 pound cobble. Thought it was just a red jasper with naked eye. Only after posting with magnification did the dots become apparent. The rest of it is in the rotaries being shaped. another view, that dotted area may have been a small area

The 2nd coral was a fairly large piece. Brown skin over black interior. the black color comes from coral sitting in the middle of the river imbedded in ancient black muck settlement.

Often coral comes in pure lily white like that Tim. Usually found in clear water rivers with pure white sand. Probably devoid of iron. Florida has such conditions. N Florida and S Georgia coral is stained by the nasty clays washed down from Georgia Appalachian hills. Probably should focus on tumbling a full batch of lily whites. It breaks your hammer. Dense as it comes.

that 2nd one is cool with that clear streak with yellow bubbles. Yellow bubbles is good stuff. Did you see how the fracture allowed soluble minerals to seep in and fill adjacent corallites

Very nice , love the corals and rios Most of the Rio material shapes about 40% faster than the coral wigglin. Chert and coral form from dissolved marine silicates. Rios similar but silica source is volcanic.

jamesp That is a color! Old mother nature knows what she is doing...............................MrP Would like to drag all you guys up in snow country to the south Texas desert and put you on the colors down there. May have to do it in February to avoid thawing y'all out too much. Mother nature was generous down there.

Botryoidal formed in hollow coral. A coarser variety of coral replaced with similar botryoidal chalcedony
