Never had a shaft break or become unusable. It's the rollers and guides that wear out. The white "bearings" on the ends I can replace easily, but the rollers and mostly the guides wear and I'm too lazy to go through the work replacing them when a new complete shaft is pretty inexpensive.
Probably wouldn't be an issue if I weren't running such heavy loads. Just like having the spare there should I need it.

We all like cash but if there were a way to compensate the landowner some other way that would be appreciated . Instead of turning it into a commercial fee for digging type thing . Most land owners are into getting polished rocks from their own property in return. ads a bit of sentiment.

Those look great! I always like your corals Jake I want to send some coral out for others to tumble. I have a lot of it. Too much. Need to collect fresh stock/new colors and patterns. If anyone wants some let me know. $30 for MFRB to cover postage and time. Count me in.

I love the corals, but kind of impartial to the Texas agates and woods! Great looking tumbles! I think somebody's been working on their Photos! They look great!

The Texas stuff is hard to beat with all the variety. Funny thing, have a hard time focusing on a lot of the darker Texas material. My camera is an excellent one but an old view finder type that is fogged up and makes darker rocks difficult to focus on. Need to tripod and go with a slower shutter and higher f-stop to get depth in focus too.

Beautiful corals, the grey one is similar to one you sent to me to cab, it works up great. I also like the yellow breccia, Stone Canyon?
Peace, Rich

Pretty sure I saw that tripod in an earlier thread..... sounds like you may have to get Randy involved with your camera issues. I would love to see some intimate photos of those rios!

I did buy an old Vivitar 'film era macro' real cheap that adapts to my digital Nikon D70 for 'manual only' operation Jeremy. A few years back. I think I paid $50 for it. Garage Rocker would probably get a kick out of the lucky adaptation of an old film lens to a modern digital D70 Nikon. Some of those old film lens' are some very high end glass and are out there cheap. He mentioned vintage photography, old lenses have a look. (pro photographer words) These were the first photos I took with it. Nothing close to Randy's work but not bad for a desk lamp and rag tag tripod and amateur. May be a cheapy, Randy may recognize - Vivitar Auto Macro 55mm f1:2.8 with 62mm (objective ?). Get focus on, slow shutter for some depth, good strong light and I might be able to nip at Randy's coat tails. He needs some photographic nipping. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/albums/72157632340494899Randy always jabbing me about technical discussions. He probably understands following discussion on this lens(I don't): erphotoreview.com/wordpress/?p=1287

James has a photography pedigree. I've seen that Franken-tripod mount and the adapted lens mount. Approaches his photo gear the same way he tackles everything. MacGyver. But in the name of efficiency, he may not wait for the best light, or move to an ideal location or drag out appropriate gear for only marginally better photos. Still upper tier stuff.

I sense an elusive compliment. Ah, upper tier. Yes, not one to make the best final adjustments. Can't handle doing my best for fear of being outdone. High insecurity factor to deal with.
