I'm in the process of restoring a basket case of a 1960s HP 18" saw. Looking at the parts listing on the HP website, I'm seeing a slightly different split nut arrangement than what was present when I tore the carriage apart on mine. Does anyone have photos of the split nut assemble on an older HP saw? Mine has threads built into the two arms, not a separate nut like listed on the website.
Thanks! Joshua

That looks like my setup! A close shot of the split nut setup would help me immensely! Thanks!

The new design of split nut from hplapidary allows you to just replace the inserts when they wear out. Alot cheaper than replacing the entire feed dogs. Cigarbox rocks has exact copies similar to what you currently have on their website. They custom machine them in their machine shop.

Diam Pac likely has the original parts.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for. Now to clean and begin re-assembly! I have to order a bunch of parts too, so it's going to take a while whilst I raise the dosh.
Cheers! Joshua
