I got this stone from Jean nose rockpickerforever a long time ago and have been trying to figure out a way to fill the soft grooves that I ground out because the purple in the stone is awesome. Gave it a try with purple cord and light pink crochet thread that I just happened to have laying around. I know, that is beyond saving some stuff but it has sure come in handy a few times. The reason I finished this stone is because a new friend couldn't find a purple pendant in my suitcase full of give away pendants. My grand daughter loved it so I am hoping it is a hit for the owner. P3250004: P3250002: P3250001: I have done some cord groove wraps on stones with a groove around the outside like a wire wrap but this is a little too far outside the box. Do the rest of you hear voices telling you what to do? Jim

Jim, hope you show it finished, and the back. Voice? It's only my own head talking to me--- an inner conversation.

Thanks a lot, Jim. I've been toying with the idea of making a purple lepidolite heart (material I sent you) for the cab contest. Now you go and throw it in my face, teasing me, challenging me to pull out my flat lap and make it.
Okay, fine. Guess that's what I will do next, lol.

Oh boo hoo Pat you are so cruel you made me cry. It is finished and the back looks like s,,, well, you know. I was just going to give it to her in a cute little bag then leave and now I have to show my dirty drawers to everyone, blubber blubber. Okay, I'm over it. Really though Pat, I just showed the back because I was afraid that if I was to let everyone see the front I would get blamed for blowing a bunch of socks off. You know, and ruining keyboards and stuff. I hate to be a nuisance. To all the others, thank you so much for stopping to compliment. rockpickerforever soakay I get blammed four all the oth...... what were we talking about? Blam mee fouir that 2. im

Hmmmmm.... I'd still like to see the back!! I like your idea of grooving and using rat tail.

Pat Rats? I didn't see any rats. Didn't know it was called rat tail but I see why. I have many many colors but have to ask others what color to put with others. Not color blind, color stupid. The cord and thread are super glued all the way on front and back. I would have to check but I think the thread goes most of the way across from both sides and the rat tail meets in the center. Not what I would call a fine finish back there. I thought about covering the back with a cloth or something but since it is a give away I think not. Jim

Thanks for the explanation.
You could also use half-round wire. Could also embed small flat backed crystals in the grooves.

Thanks for the explanation. You could also use half-round wire. Could also embed small flat backed crystals in the grooves. This is true and I experimented with brass drill cuttings, very red wood saw dust and a few other things (minus the epoxy) and wasn't confident enough in keeping it all from drifting out the ends. I have another one with less grooves (misplaced) that I am going to do some real experimenting with. When you think about it there would not be much effort used to remove and try again. You know that I love a challenge. Jim

I suppose you could cut a series of grooves in a random shaped polished rock and fill the grooves with similar soft wrap.
Very interesting.

I like it. Not wire, but definitely wrapped. Voices? I think the voices come from the rocks. Yeah that's it. I'll blame the rocks. They do talk to me. Tell me what to do them. Whisper to me in the field. "Look over here. I'm hiding over here." Lol it must be past my bedtime. 😜😴
