That may be true rasta. You may consider running the AO 80 run in the rotary for 10 days instead. My Vibrasonic is built to run SiC 80 with no wear effects. So I would never know about a Lot-O. I will say that SiC 120 should be more aggressive at cutting your barrel as it is sharp. And the AO 80 should break down quickly, should be down to 200 in a half a day. That may depend on how gentle your vibe is.

I have run 3 batch of AO 80 through my lot-o and have not encountered this yet. I run mine pretty wet though, I add 2 teaspoons of A0 80, 1 tablespoon of Borax and then add a tablespoon of water along with the rocks being wet. Every 12 hours I have been adding a half tablespoon of water.
I have found if I don't add extra water at the beginning and about every 12 hours my slurry gets thick and the rocks will stick to each other instead of sliding by each other, especially the smalls

I agree that running a little might be the answer to the black speck problem . I have Gy Roc vibes , instructions say to start with 220 . When I started using 120/220 I was getting the black specks also . I started running a little wetter and it seemed to cure that problem . I was hesitant about using AO80 also because of what the instructions say but sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet and try different tactics . If it cuts down on the time and work involved in turning out a batch , then it is worth investing in a new bowl now and then . Have 10lbs of 80 waiting with me for spring to get here
