I have been getting all my tumblers, grit ready for the coming warmer weather. They have been store in my detached, unheated garage over the winter. I have oiled up and cleaned up all my tumblers, and they are working just fine. But I have noticed that some my grit ( the finer grades like 500 and 1000) have turned darker over the winter, turning from off-white to light gray.
Did the cold cause this color change, and is it safe to use this grit?
Thanks
Gary

I can't imagine anything bad happening to grit that would be caused by cold weather. However, I have never had this problem. I store my grit in the basement and tumble all winter long.

Welcome to the site. Great site. If grit changed color it should be no problem. Never noticed such. Abrasives are about indestructible, no worries.
