It has been quite awhile since I posted any slab pictures. We had some unusually warm weather a couple of weeks ago, so I got an early start on the 2017 slabbing season! It is not too often that you can cut slabs outside in February around here! Here is an agate that I guess you can call lace agate: Here is a mossy agate of unknown origin: This is from a bucket labeled "Mexican moss". It has a little more purple to it that what the picture shows. Also, the tan specks kind of look like they are floating when viewed in person. There were a couple of other chunks in the bucket this came from, and the outsides of each were different colors, so it will be interesting to cut open the others to see the variations. Just have to wait for some more warm weather! These last 2 pictures are also unknown. The are different slabs from the same piece of rough. From one end to the other, the orange stripe slowly migrated across the stone. I really like the patterns in this one. The outside of the rock didn't give any hint as to what might be on the inside, so it was a nice surprise to see this hidden inside an otherwise boring looking rock.

Nice batch of slabs. The last two are my favorites, should cut some nice cabachons.

I like the last two, too. I agree- great cab potential!
