Heard of starburst jasper - also called agate or rhyolite, but never starburst obsidian. starburst "jasper" - ETA ............... you mean fireworks obsidian?

My Rock & Gem, delivered today, has an article about Starburst Obsidian, page 56. Really neat looking stuff. Quoting from the article by Russ Kaniuth: "This material is found only in the Sauceda Mountain range which is located within the Barry M. Goldwater Air Force Range in Arizona. This means there are some extreme obstacles to collecting this material. For the most part, Starburst Obsidian is acquired through private collections and estate sales, and it is certainly highly desirable right now." I'd like some too if anyone's selling at a price I can afford. Just found this link to images: www.google.com/search?q=starburst+obsidian&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwiKgbL3_NvSAhWiwVQKHdTNBvgQsAQIJA&biw=1097&bih=481#spf=1

Fireworks obsidian is a different one from Mexico and is not a true obsidian. Starburst obsidian is from Arizona.

I’m in AZ and jave bought numerous rockhound estates.. It looks familiar to me. I probably have a few peices somewhere in one of the rock piles.. I didn’t see many pics or rough on google. Can anyone post some more rough photos? Any idea what the going rate for the material is? I couldn’t find any on ebay.
