Who has the best prices online to get grit? I am going to be running out of coarse soon so trying to figure out where to get grit at.
And are there different types of coarse grit? If so, which is better to use.
Tonya.

Ok, thanks, being new at this, I am starting to realize that I'll need a lot more coarse grit than the other stages so it might be worth it to get that much.
Thanks Tonya

Arrowheadlapidarysupply.com has 60/90 for $2.50 Lb, they have lots other supplies also. Terry I use Arrowhead Lapidary for grit as well. I buy my 60/90 and my 120/240 grit in 50 pound quanitities from them. Them ship it in sealed 5 gallon buckets so there is no danger of spilling during shipping. They are tight sealing to keep out moisture, and when it's gone, you've still got a 5 gallon pail. Handy to use for those diamond saw coolant systems. Ron ps. That grit is $65.00 for 50 pounds.

xenaswolf, If I remember correctly you order by phone from Miles supply. I think the minimum order is 50 lbs. Call up tell them what size grit you want. They give you the price if you ask, take your credit card and ship in a couple of days; more than one of us has ordered from them...As others have pointed out , there are very good suppliers for lesser amounts csroc

Yes, you have to call miles supply to order the grit, the web site doesnt tell you what the price is. Thing is, you have to buy it in 50lb bags so its all a matter if you have room for it or not.
Otherwise, the rock shed has some good prices. Thinking about ordering some rocks from them...been wanting some sodalite

Miles supply is nice cause they have 3 locations and will ship from the one near you! I wish there site showed prices- Xena look in the polishing section 50 Lb bags- or 300Lb drums- Hmmm I can just see Mr. UPS trying to unload 300 Lbs- "whatcha got in there? rocks?" "nope! just some grit for my rock tumbler!" (in all honesty my Ups guy is super cool- and very careful!)

Thanks, I may put off ordering from them until I need some medium grit. I have enough coarse to last me a long time now but less than a pound left of the other grits.
