Since I've been going through my rock stash and trying to lighten the pile a bit (especially since I want to go rockhounding again), I figured it would be a good time to do a contest. I have a lot of rough rock that is from an old collection and a lot of it I have no idea what it is. I am keeping some of the ones I like but the rest are being boxed and sold to make room for new finds and give me some gas money to go out and get more rock...lol. vicious cycle but way too much fun to quit...lol.
Anyways, I figured why not give away a box while I was at it so here's your chance to get a MFRB of mixed rock for FREE. Ah but there is a catch, you have to guess the weight of the box first. The other catch is that you must be a new member of the forum (1 year or less from today's date March 24, 2017)
Rules for this contest:
Guess the total weight of the box (pounds and ounces - I don't do metric).
Closest guess without going over wins the box.
Everyone gets 2 guesses - take them all at once or spread them out, your choice.
Contest open only to new members of the RTH forum (on the forum 1 year or less)
Game starts now and ends at 7pm (Arizona time) on Sunday, March 26, 2017.
In the event of a tie the winner will be the first person who guessed that weight first.
Contest open to US only unless the international member wants to help pay for the shipping.
The box is a Medium Flat Rate Box (MFRB) of mixed rocks mostly small to medium sized pieces about 2" x 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" (good sized for tumbling). There are some agates and some jaspers but a lot of unknown types including some cut rocks. If you are new to tumbling this could be a challenge to identify the rocks and figure out how to tumble them. The box is full to the top and I weighed it dry.
