Thanks Susan I got a PM just now from someone else telling me not to back away from my order. That I won't be disapointed.
Now I'm just waiting for an e-mail from Mark so that I can pay for my order.
Can't wait to see your polished rocks!

I ordered botswana agate - 10 lbs tumble rough and love what i got!! In talks with the guy to get larger whole botswanas for cutting. He has been slow in getting back to me but ordering what he has to offer on site is really quick. For bots, he has the best price I've found

My Botswana went into polish yesterday, along with some Wildhorse jasper, Bruneau jasper, Imperial jaspers, and miscellaneous NM agates and p-woods, and maybe some chalcedony from Az. Should be able to post finished photos by New Year. I'm hoping to James them. The chevron amethyst went into it's 3rd week in 60/90 yesterday, and is looking really nice. It's good solid material, also from www.superagates.com I've liked all the material I've gotten from them very much. In my humble opinion, quality of material is the key ingredient to tumbling success. The better the rock going in, the better the rock coming out. Cheers - Susan

Crap in crap out (usually) yea good quality rough is important- that is why I have taken to shaping my rough- works so much better than the smack and hope method- plus I can cut around any potentially problematic areas- and get the size I want- I love smaller sized stones- Some of the rough I have is really too large to tumble but difficult to shisel down to size- zip zip on the saw and I'm good to go!

We bought 3 lbs of bots tumbling rough off of ebay from agatefan (same folks as superagates.com). It's nice lookin' rock, but takes a very long time to tumble off the outside "stuff". Finally, took a saw & grinder to some of them & now they're coming along much quicker. They aren't as perfect lookin' like Randy's bots, but that's okay....

yep yep I still just throw some in but I do a lot of preshaping now with the saw. Have some preshaper crazy lace in with some african blood stone and the preshaped ones are a great way to go.

Well, I placed my order (and paid for it) on December 14th. It's now January 11th and I still haven't recieved my package.
I e-mailed Mark yesterday, and a second time today... No answer. Did this guy take off with my $ or what? I'm waiting till the 14th before I take this up with Paypal, and open a "I want my money back" file.

I placed an order for botswana agate with them a week ago, and got mine in about 3 days later. The least they could do, is respond to that email regarding whether or not they actually shipped the item. Could it have gotten lost enroute?

don't know what to tell you alice, I've placed 3 orders with them and gotten all 3 with in 4 days of payments. That doesn't sound right to me, I'd have been on the phone a long time before this.

1 month to the date I finally got my box. Yippy!!!!!
Great stuff! I'm very happy with the quality.
Tweetie's gonna ask, ... I ordered 10 pounds, and shipping cost $19.95US for surface delivery. It was well worth it.

Yup, I posted pictures in the ID section. Look for Botswana, and Dryhead (I got a lot more then what's pictured, but you'll get the idea of the quality)

I just want to resurrect this thread to say I just concluded a pleasant deal with this guy. I ordered 5# each of the tumbling-grade Botswana agates and the crushed amethyst. I ordered on Monday and got the material on Friday. His price includes any "handling" he has to do, he just charges the price of the flat-rate box. The material is fairly represented by the photos on his site, too: the amethysts are all a nice, dark purple, and the agates pretty much all have striking banding. I'm a happy customer.

Mark's awesome. I got some West Texas plume agate from him a while back that I wasn't pleased with, as I was expecting cutting rough, and he refunded me the entire purchase amount, credited towards my next purchase. I kept an eye on his site and just got some Queensland agate from him. He's a sweetheart and a gentleman. I've gotten some Botswana and some Chevron amethyst from him, too. All good stuff. He gets 5 stars from me! Check out his site - he has some cool stuff going on right now. Love the prarie agates! ;D Susan
