I looked at those Mark. After a bit of communication effort I figured them at $5/cone. He finds them in Morocco.

I have seen them at rock shows. Saw some whole ones at the Vista show several years ago, first thing in the morning. Passed them by, when I went back just a little later, they were long gone.
Have seen some nice ones halved and face polished. Not sure what tumbling would do to them. They'd have to be pretty well silicified or agatized to hold up. $5 each a steal, even when you add shipping. I think they were significantly more than that at the Vista show.

Still get a chuckle thinking about a previous member, whose name I will not mention, who swore adamantly that a thunder egg she had gotten from an old man was a fossilized pine cone, because he told her it was... Ha ha!

Anybody try these? Anybody seen them in person, are they actually agatized, will they take a polish?
