Howdy folks, Just a couple of pics from Clayton's last delivery. Almost rejected this one as an unusual hunk of chert: So water worn I would not have even guessed wood and it turned out out this is the best hunk of palm I've ever had and it has root on the other end. Hunk of that Tigertail that has poppies: Nice weird moss:

*L* Small palm goes into my saw. I love palm and take pieces my saw will handle as part of my cut of the agate. If I ever take in palm too big for my saw, I'll try to stockpile enough for a box but it won't be cheap. Rio Grande palm is the best palm in Texas and maybe the world. Extremely rare in Rio material and no one would knowingly sell $10+ per pound palm for $2.50 per pound......Mel

That palm sure is nice but I'm especially drawn to the poppies in the Tigertail.
Peace,
Rich

Rich, Yeah, I'm hoping I can finally get a slab of tigertail for my collection where the poppies are well defined all the way through. Many times they are purely external or very blurry when you cut the vein. The palm I plan to cut in several directions for a good selection of slabettes. I hope the root part is as good as the fiber looks..Mel

Mel is it typical for Tx palm to have that red coloration in it? Beautiful!

That's really cool! Man I've got to get a saw so I can start making cool discoveries like that.
