Howdy folks, Yesterday I finally got some saw time. Cut the Rio Grande poppy which was disappointing and too full of soft spots. Maybe a small cab or two in the slabs with a lot of work. Started the palm after sharpening my saw real good. man that stuff is hard as tacks! Best palm I've ever cut into and lots more cuts to go. Anyway some pics.....Mel Palm root at bottom fiber above: Cut another direction: Ehh poppy!

Now that's some outstanding palm Mel lots of color going on. Poppy is not so bad. Good call on cutting. I love palm, but most of mine is not so colorful.

That palm is fantastic! Sorry to hear about the poppy, I'm partial to poppies.

Cool palm like the details lots going on in that, i imagine it being hard as heck, i have a large piece i self collected hope it comes out half as nice?
