I still feel bad for what I paid for my Genie, rough, tumbler package. Saw it on Craigslist and actually left work early, went to the bank and giggled all the way home with it in the car. One of the few times I didn't haggle a Craigslist purchase.
You're certainly going to have fun! Congrats!

I can't help it i haggle no matter what, it's just fun, but this guy is a geology teacher he also had an 18" covington i belive , had intentions of redoing this one never got around to it, i told him about the RTH and gave him his asking price and i had a semi cabbed end cut cabb of a laguna lace,i also gave to him. seemed to be an honest nice guy,

You did good! I love my Genie, just bought new wheels for it and haven't put them on yet because I want to use every last diamond on the old.

That looks like a good start for a nice machine, especially if inexpensive.
Before you start it up, take the capacitor out and check it/have it checked to make sure it is good. It's located under the motor base. Ours was shot when we bought the machine, know of another locally. Bad cap will either not start the motor or will cause it to overheat very quickly. They aren't expensive.

I would be interested in the old ones have some recoating ideals i would like to try or if anyone else has some used 6" wheels they have no use for??

Are you going to learn to resurface the wheels yourself? Would be a great skill to have!

roy is right about replacing the cap; my dilemma is either driving 95 miles round trip to get one or paying a shipping charge that a little over doubles the cost of the cap.
