Anybody ever heard that phrase? My job offers training in it. And we are all witnessing it this week. Recently Tommy took control of our playground and has been making myriad executive decisions. Enacting rules officially that have been unofficial for years. Seems like that should make folks happy. I'm sure some are. We have witnessed various bouts of complaints and whines. "I hate change" and others. Tommy is making changes both visible and invisible that we will all benefit from. The whining and crap don't help. Tommy has responded to many of the points made. And in my estimation he has done so admirably. He is instinctively managing change with our fellow members. And doing so with grace and dignity. This concept change management is not often easy (i see seasoned pros at THD completely fail at it). Hats off to you Tommy. Well done all around. I'm so happy for you and we are patiently awaiting whatever advances you bring. Well done. Keep bringing RTH into V 2.0!

Thank you Scott and Jeannie - and Rich. I appreciate the support. Change is not easy and I don't want to make light of those who are directly affected by my actions but time cures a lot of ails and the sun will come up tomorrow on another day. I'm also one of those persons who gets pissed easily when I get used to using a website (like my bank) and it works perfectly well then I log on the next day and it's all different and makes no sense. My point is I understand how they feel - and at the same time I'm open to alternative solutions that will *improve* the health of RTH because I love this forum and want to see it thrive in an technology age that has quite frankly not been kind to Forums like this.

Nothing ever stays the same. The world has never been like this before and never will be again. Why should RTH be different? If something isn't growing, it is dying. Time heals all wounds. And Time wounds all heels. ( a chiasm)

Great post, Scott @shotgunner! Yes, change is hard. The only 2 big changes so far have been the posting rules. One was unwritten long ago. One is needed for a variety of good reasons. It may even get tweaked. But, really it's not that big a deal. The pros outweigh the cons. Thank you, Tommy for doing all this work- the stuff we see and don't see.

Tommy Why you thanking jeannie? She didn't post in this thread. Lol But SHE must have written it! (snicker) change management is actually a thing at home depot. And when i saw how well Tommy was doing at it, i actually called him to compliment him on the phone. Then i was inspired to make this post. Jeannie makes me happy. I'm fitting in the role of sales manager quite well. So, perhaps those things conspired to inspire this thread.

Well done Tommy. Some of these changes are long overdue. Especially the post count rule for the Buy, Sell & swap section, & the post count rule for using this section, (Life, The Universe, And Everything Else).
I do have one complaint. I had a hell of a time finding this section in it,s new location, but I'll get over it.
Keep on keeping on, & keep on rockin.
