thrilled to post this book I just checked out from the library
I read this 10 years ago and could never find the book again
I forgot the title and all my web searches came up with zilch
Then browsing the library in Mesa I found it!
A fairly rare edition.
Its ½ geology half speculative history about the Hohokam Indians,
formation of the Papago Buttes in Phoenix,
the Spanish search for the Lost Cities of Cibola, (De Niza, Coronado,, Kino)
speculative geology on Aeolian sand dunes
& the origin of Loess (or Yellow soil)
w/ a little Easter Island thrown in for good measure.
How did those Moia get there?
Well it’s a wild read.
for the Phoenix crowd the Papago Butte Mountains only formed
about 300 years ago according to the extensive geological analysis
by this author who as a PH.D in Physics.
Plus this will interest anyone who searches for the
Lost Dutchman Gold Mine, wonders about Phoenix geological history,
and the process/analysis of the origins of geological formations
Is he right?
I’m going up to Papago to do my own research and have a picnic to boot.
