Howdy folks, Just so all y'all don't think every Rio I cut is a dandy. Hit more than a few duds this week, some not even agate and some not worth a picture. These three are the best of the duds. The smaller slabs are off two "poppyish" specimens but the poppies need a magnifying lens to see'em. The larger was good moss but so run of the mill colorwise that I didn't want to spend the diamond or saw time taking more than one cut. Got pics to take of more interesting ones but my battery needed a recharge.....Mel  |

Still make great tumbling material...............Duds in all material out there...........Sure came across lots with Montana moss agates....LOL

I truly hate to say this, but I got a box and cut a few. They turned out to be duds. Even though I KNOW there should be some good ones, I haven't gone back to cut anymore. Not to say that I blame Mel, mind you! You just never know what you're gonna get.

I hate to be disagreeable here (so not my nature!), but Mel I think that larger slab is killer. LOTS going on in that piece. Had to enlarge the pic and put on my reading glasses to see it well, but that is a very interesting slice of Rio goodness.
The top two pieces have an end (towards each other in the pic) that would have made a very pretty tumble.
The bottom slice is a dud!
I'm thinkin' that your standards are probably much higher than the rest of us because you get to cut these so often.
