toivO: Since I only have a ten inch slab saw with a fairly small vice, generally the nodules or pieces are viced parallel to the narrow axis and cut across. No real planning, just whatever fits securely into the vice jaws. I suspect I'd catch more plumes if they could be opened like biscuits but they don't lend themselves to clamping well in that direction and I find with Rios, it's fun to be surprised and just see what ya get.....Mel
