Any suggestion for type of 10 inch Diamond Blade to buy and where to buy it? It's for a RayTec 10 inch slab saw.
Thanks

Truly only one place - johnjsgemswww.jsgemslapidary.comYes, sometimes it's a buck or two more than if you go on a search, but for a buck or two, I would much rather support an outstanding member here.

Aw, shucks. I'm getting all misty. Thanks for the kind words. As far as which blade, if a power feed use .040" or thicker to avoid blade deflection while cutting. I personally like the 301 blades as they slice through the hardest rock without flinching but the 303C blades would serve you well for close to half price. If you are hand feeding and trimming the .032" saves material.

Glad y'all reminded me. I just went and sent off for a new 303C from John. These are really good blades. I actually like them better than the 301. For me they seem to work better and the one I'm cutting agate with now has cut so long it's down to the last 1/8 inch of diamond. I had a 301 too, but to me, on my Covington, it seemed to require cleaning the oil far more often as it had a tendency to bog down in the cut. The 303C seems to still cut swell even when the oil is almost chocolate pudding. As you might surmise from this, the Covington is a bear to clean so I don't clean it often *L*.....Mel

You have mentioned many issues and this particular one makes me think your saw feeds too fast. Mine too! Covington seems to have made their feed rates very high. I am buying new pulleys to slow the feed down.

I think the 10" has a motor feed not belts. I briefly had an 8" Covington that someone had cut out the sump divider. That would make the saw much easier to clean.
