Thought I would do something xtra special for my GF . While down in a gravel pit yesterday I found this piece of gem quality basalt . So I figured I should create a work of art for her . It already had the hole so it was easy to make a jump ring ( 12ga electric wire ) and hang it on something . So without further ado , here it is .( Yup , been accused of being a bit stone age ) before she spruced it up ,  after adding a little bling ,  No comments necessary and please holdback the drool Wilma Flintstone , eat your heart out . If that don't say "I love you" I don't know what does. If only you would have made the heart out of red. I really like it, I worked a job in Kentucky where I must have pulled a 5 gal pail of stone with holes in them.

Are you 100% certain that is basalt? Very nice! Woot! Yup , 100% pure grubby , I mean gem grade , old basalt . Should have washed the dirt off and clean out the holes a bit . Pretty special don't ya think ?  |

I have a bigger piece like that I always say she should make herself a necklace with . Somehow she doesn't think a 3 pound rock hanging around her neck is very funny . |

The one pictured is the small one , maybe a couple inches . The bigger one , about 6" , is the one she thinks might be a touch to much . |
