Howdy folks, Cut a few more duds but got a couple good ones too. Here are some pics...Mel Like this one because of the little patch of gold plume against dark chalcedony on the left of the slab. Started this one from the wrong end. Heel is much more vug free. Another tigertail jasper with orby stuff instead of stripes And finally, a lot going on in this one.

So the orbs vs stripes on the tiger tail. Is that just because of the way the stone was oriented when you cut it?
Love the pattern n that last one too.

fantastic, Nope, the Tigertail seems to sometimes have diagonal bands like striping and other times have spots or orbs with only the color scheme remaining the same. The orbs with concentric circles seem to be pretty rare and are usually just on the outside of the piece. Vein material must be a little botryoidal in situ. Sadly, the orbs seem to lose contrast on the inside of the stones and I've yet to find me a type specimen where nice concentric orbs are well defined all the way through the piece....Mel
