A friend sent my daughter a shipment of tumbling rough including Chevron Amethyst from them, and it's quite nice. Does anyone have any idea whether their prices are competitive, or whether they're good to work with?

I was pleased with the price of the ammy and apache tears I got from them but you might check www.rockshed.com or ebay. I believe it was $4/lb or so from Kingsley.

Bought quite a bit of rough from them. Mostly stuff I didn't see elsewhere. They had a good price on some, but not all. I was actually disappointed in some of the rough. They sell a green and purple fluorite. What I got was mostly green with almost no purple. I wrote back and complained about the problems I had with various types of rough and some sales guy answered me with - "Next time you place an order contact me directly. Sometimes the guys on the floor aren't careful about what they select."
The pictures they show of what you are buying, for the most part, are much better than the reality of what you receive. Live and learn... I bought 7 or 8 types of rough at once. Some was as described, but I'd say half didn't live up to expectations.

do you ever get the hamburger in the glossy slick ads in the sunday paper that when you step on it on the floor you slip and almost break your a#$%@*&^ if you go looking for it? there have been several times i didnot like what they sent but eventually the stuff was used ,processed or sold. , they at least don,t sell something for something it isnot like the #@$%^& by god in florida it is not a perfect world , the north boys are no exception.trying to get consistent supplies of rock is not easy. not making excuses for their screwups but they have made them right when i complained. gemmaster

But as I stated in my initial comment, they didn't make right on my order - just promised to do better the next time.

Problem is they sure don't want the stuff returned- We face that all the time- Customer is unhappy with there order- But the best way to handle it would be to replace it with something of similar value! THat is what we do! Yea sometimes lose a bit of profit- But taking care of the customer is a sure wat to keep em coming back!

Dang it. I must of had some new guy pack my shipment of rough. Maybe I'll give them another try down the road.

I ordered some mex lace from them, it was nasty. Didn't even look like mex lace, had lots of black and clear parts in it, barely any lace. I was very disappointed and won't order rough from them again.

Yes, someone else had a bad experience with kingsley. Sorry, Cher - didn't mean to gloat at your misfortune. I just thought I was the only one that had had a bad experience. Oh, glorious vindication.

LOL No problem Toad, I know what you mean. KD that was about the same time that I got mine, maybe it was just a whole bad batch they got. Still kind of put me off though, I wrote to them and their response definitely gave me the impression that I was not important as a customer. So I figure, fine, I'll give my business to someone who cares.

I agree, Cher. I was put off by the reply I got as well. There are a lot of other sellers out there that I've always been happy with the order; and ebay has been good to me too. I will only buy from Kingsley if no one else has it. Chances are I can find it some where else, and probably cheaper.
