Really would like to see some slabs off the second from the last one . the guy who has them has been collecting for 50 years, He has at least 100 barrels lined up of different material. He said he won't do anything with them and his kids can dispose of them after he passes. Those pieces have been in his yard for 30 plus years. I see some lichens on them. captbob and @shotgunner will want to make spheres. When I asked if I could take a picture he said ok but if they come up missing he will know. Heck I guess where theres a will theres a way.

Probably one of those cases where the kids will just leave as is or dump it all in a hole and bury it .

I haven't seen any of this material in a size that is probably over 10 lbs and that material is hardly ever in a boulder so to speak. It is almost alway elongated, you can see in the pictures how even the bigger pieces are elongated. I think a fiberous asbestos repacement which fractures on the fiberous orientation. The material itself is only found on the Cyuna range which is sw of here about 50 miles and off limits due to it being mining property. Mary Ellen jasper can be found pretty often in the glacial till but I am not familar with anyone finding any bingamite or silkstone other than from the mines theirselves.

I know him. The reason he will not sell any more is because everyone has tried to screw him over and over and he is sick of it. He is a really nice guy.

I imagine there were some souls that had the forsight and ambition to collect when it was available, I run across pieces people have from time to time but never this size. I was talking to him and the silkstone was right next to me...I said "don't tell me this is ..." and we both said silkstone at the same time.
