Hi everyone if PB will allow me to post a picture. PB giving me grief. I found this and want to attempt to preserve it. I know it's mud and probably calcite but can you coat it with some to keep it intact? I found it Sunday and so far have just rinsed it off. I put it in a rub of water. Since removed. Found in East Texas. Thanks everyone. I call it my faux turtle lol.  |

Yes I do have a saw. I have another one that's larger more calcite showing and roundish. the other one that i have looks like the outer crust of one but it is solid. Try to post a few more pictures if PB will cooperate today.

Nice find. What makes you think that it will deteriorate? I would be cautious about coating it unless absolutely necessary.

I have it sitting indoors. The mud has shrunk considerably. I wish I had weighed it after I cleaned it. I am going to move it on to display and see what happens. Worst I will have to do is clean up a mess.

For photos you need to use photobucket or another photo sharing service. PB charges for the photo space so it's pretty limited.

Yes Photo B and I get cross ways a lot. But I have had an account for years. Will be looking at other photo sites. Too many ads.
