Every time I do a search on EBay in the collectibles/rocks and minerals category, I run into gobs of listings from a seller named junglelord. He has tons of overpriced grit and polish. He sells piles of CE tumblers to the masses. As an added bonus, he even sells the belts. So, the more CE tumblers he unloads, the more belts he gets to sell, and overpriced grit, overpriced polish, yada yada yada. Man, this guy probably makes more money than an email bomber/spamer! And the bad thing is, you can't block a seller on EBay. No sir, you can add a favorite seller but you sure can't filter out their listings. I got so sick and tired of seeing junglelord's junk, that I decided to customize a search JUST FOR HIM. Here it is: First, go to this link: collectibles.listings.ebay.com/Lapidary-Materials_Tools-Supplies_W0QQfromZR4QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQsacatZ4843QQsocmdZListingItemListAnd then copy and paste this in search: -"TUMBLING TUMBLER" -"ROCK TUMBLER GRIT" -BELTS -LUSTERITE -"ROTARY ROCK TUMBLER" -"ROCK TUMBLER ROTARY" -"TUMBLER TUMBLING" -SALE -REDUCED -BONUS -"DUAL (2) BARREL ROCK TUMBLER" -"Agate Mortar and Pestal" You'll find a lot of interesting stuff, maybe even a good deal on some used equipment. But, you won't find nearly as many CE tumblers or over priced grit. Enjoy.. MrCoffee

if you click advanced search at the top of the ebay page you can exclude certain sellers, certain words, certain locations, and more.

Trust me, rockraccoon, I've looked all over the place for a feature that excludes certain sellers. Unfortunately, I got a letter from EBay informing me that the feature no longer exists. Disgusting, ain't it?

here's what it says on my ebay advanced search:
From Sellers From any Sellers From specific sellers (enter sellers' user IDs) IncludeExclude Search up to 10 sellers, separate names by a comma or a space. From My Favorite Sellers Search sellers from My Favorite Sellers list
i just tried a search on tumbler belts which pulled him up then tried one excluding him and it did - you may be putting his name in wrong - he spells it jungelord instead of junglelord.

I haven't found those options any place. Can you give me a link where I might find them, rockyraccoon?

at the very top of the screen on the right there it says "advanced search" under the search button. click there. enter the keywords you are searching for then scroll down to the "from sellers" section. by default it will have "from any sellers" marked. instead mark "from specific sellers" and change "include" to "exclude" then put in the seller id of the person you don't want to see. then scroll all the way to the bottom and click search.

This is where it led me: search.ebay.com/ws/search/AdvSearch?sofindtype=13&ssPageName=h:h:advsearch:USHere is the menu I got on the left side: Search Items Find Items By eBay Motors Categories Items by Seller Items by Bidder By Item Number Stores Items in Stores Find Stores Members Find a Member Find Contact Information Find a Trading Assistant Needless to say, I didn't find a "from sellers" section any place. However, I got this when I clicked on "Items by seller": Enter seller's User ID Find items offered by a particular seller. Include completed listings Last 30 days Last 2 weeks Last week Last 2 daysLast day Include bidders' and buyers' email addresses (Only available if you are the seller of the listed items.) Show close and exact User ID matches Sort by Time: oldest firstTime: newly listedTime: ending soonest Price: lowest first Results per page I didn't find anything in there that excludes sellers at all. Also, my computer is scanned daily for adware and other problems, so it's clear from any of that. MrCoffee

you're in the right place. to the right of all that it says:
Enter keyword or item number
Exclude these words
Items Priced
From Sellers
Location
Items near me
Currency
Multiple item listings
Show only
Number of bids
Sort by
and then the search button to click is under all these choices
and if your page doesn't say all that then you need to go to that blue choice up top that says "customize search options" and add those options.

I went into Advanced Search, and looked at "customize settings". I clicked that tab, and found the "From Sellers" option. I went ahead and added everything that could be available. This time, it worked! I'll remember this one. Thanks a bunch for your help, rockyraccoon. Also, it will help a lot of others when Google picks this thread up.

No actually I think you are seeing one member who is tired of seeing the same listings over and over and over and over and over- too each it's own

you can block certain buyers from ever seeing your posts. I believe there is also a feature which will block you from seeing a certain seller. You have to dig for it though. It wasn't easy finding the "Block certain buyers" section back when I used to sell.

I see jealousy is rearing its ugly head ! as they say any publicity is GOOD publicity I didn't know you all cared ! I have never sold on EBay, and never cared to. As stefan said, I got sick and tired of seeing the same listings over and over again. And, those listings were for products I generally don't buy. I'll tell you what I want, and I'm not speaking for everybody else on this board: I'm only speaking for myself. However, others may want something similar. I want 60/90 and 150/220 silicon carbid grit at a reasonable price, say $2.50 per pound. Since I have a 36 pound tumbler, I have to purchase 5 pounds at a time. Not every day, but occasionally. Believe me, it's out there at that price. I will need some 600 silicon carbide later. How about some tin oxide, or cerium oxide at a reasonable price? Polishing rocks is fun, but paying $12.00 for a pound of cerium oxide from Covington Engineering isn't. Can you sell that pound of cerium oxide for $7.50 with a low shipping cost? And no, I'm not looking for "lusterite" either. I need to know EXACTLY what turns out the desired results, so I can get it from any source. If you offer the things I'm looking for, without repetitively listing them over and over again, I will seriously consider what you have for sale. Also, read and study this message board! It discribes the types of things the members are looking for, such as quality rough, tumbling mix and slabbing material. Start listing some lake superior agate, and include photos of the actual material. We will definitly look! Instead of CE tumblers, why not sell Lortone 3A-NR, 45C, or 33B kits instead? At least the buyer would have something that lasts a while and doesn't need a new belt every 3 days. You probably won't have to list nearly as many either. Offer a Lortone 45C tumbler, brand new, with a factory warranty for $85.00, complete with 4 pounds of a good agate or jasper tumbling mix and a decent 4 step grit kit, and people will buy it, believe me. When you make your listings, it looks better to us when you list products for what they are. An example: "Lortone 45C rock tumbler with complete tumbling kit" sounds a lot better than "Single barrel rotary rock tumbler kit TUMBLER TUMBLING *REDUCED!!*". That last discription just sounds tacky. The first one, however, discribes EXACTLY what you're offering to the buyer. You don't have to water mark your images either: A photo of a bag of silicon carbide grit looks like any other photo of a bag of silicon carbide grit. If I ever get a camera, I'll even email you a photo of grit that you don't have to mark at all, free of charge! Finally, I really do appreciate your reading this. Listening to your customers will help you build more trust and credibility. If you achieve a known reputation for offering quality merchandise, you will sell more products and make better profits. And yes, I will then buy some of your stuff. MrCoffee

You should try miles for grit MrCoffee. I believe they sell grit for .58 cents a pound (minimum order is 50 pounds)

I got a catelog from miles a couple of weeks ago but still have to e-mail/call for pricing. Great deals if you can spare the space to store the material.
