What are the guidelines for using ceramic media in a vibe unit like a UV10?
Is the ceramic media use necessary to achieve the cyclonic motion, or can that motion be sustained using just rocks (maintaining the same combination of sizes normally used in a rotary tumbler)?
Is there a "rule-of-thumb" ratio between amounts of rocks to ceramic media in making up a UV10 load?

Just started my first UV-10 vibe load - 4 lbs Amazonite and 2 lbs Moonstone. After loading the UV-10 drum I proceeded to poor in mixed sizes of ceramic pellets until it was almost to the top of the center cone. The action looked about what I had seen in a Rock Shed video... so I think it is OK. Even if this does not answer my question of whether the ceramics are even necessary, I am happy to just see good action.
