Hi all. Has anyone had any dealings with Rhodescabbin from ebay? I won an auction from him on Jan 20 and even though he states on his auction site that items will be shipped out 10-12 days after payment is received, I am still waiting for my rocks. I e-mailed him last week and he seemed to get a little huffy about me asking when I might expect to see my package. Anyone else won any of his auctions? How long did it take to get your package?

I bought a few small chunks about 2 years back. Everything went smooth. I do think he is a bit of a old codger - but that is just judging from the web page. All my dealings were pleasant. Possibly the shows in Arizona are slowing things down a bit. Don't worry, I think he is solid.

I've never dealt with him but I've followed his auctions for a while. He seems like an honest person and always sells cool stuff.

I've bought from him several times. I've been very happy with all my ebay buys from him. He is kind of slow in getting his items in the mail. Sometimes I waited about a month to get my rocks. I think it is kind of when he get's around to it. I'm okay with that as long as I know it's a comin'! His rocks sell alot faster than you will get them, but good things come to those who wait!

When I e-mailed him he said he was out in the boonies of Oregon and was trying to work things out with the postoffice. He says on his auction that items will be shipped in 10-12 days, so I waited 12 days and just asked when to expect the rocks. Oh well, as long as he does eventually send the rocks, then it's ok. I won 17.5lbs of botswana, ocean jasper and a bunch of other nice rocks, mostly end cuts and slabs. Patience....

Well I got my box of rocks from him today-3 weeks after I won the auction. He listed the auction as Botswanna, Ocean Jasper primo tumbling mix. There was one piece of ocean jasper and two pieces of botswanna. The rest was picture jaspers and agates. A little disappointed cuz I paid a high price for the box thinking there was going to be alot of the OJ and bots. The person who was bidding with me must have thought the same thing cuz I got it for what they bid. Still some nice slabs and end cuts, but not what I expected. It must be like the box you got John.

hey stoner, i ordered from him a few weeks ago, everything showed up - in time - but took about three weeks to get here. I sent him an e-mail and he said he lived out in the country and only went into town every other week, so depending on when you hit it could be waiting a while

I've ordered from Rhodescabbin. The rocks were good, but a couple got busted up since he didn't use enough packing. But I kept them anyway, they were too pretty to send back. It took a really long time to get them as he was in the process of moving out to the country and all he had was a small pickup to move everything. Even the rocks.
I'd order from him again, but at his prices for the pieces I want, I want to get my head examined first. Besides, my last heating bill was $400 and I'm still in therapy for that.

Very interesting. He just doesn't sound like anyone I care to deal with. There are a lot more sellers to choose from.

I had a VERY BAD first (and last) experience with Dale, and I think he's paranoid. We'll leave it at that. I know a lot of our Board members have had better transactions than I... Susan

Hey Mike,
yep, small world. I see you added some new sites to your site. I love digging fire agate, which can also be found to the north of Saddle Mt, up in the castle hot spring area.
