I like the looks of those a lot! What do you have planned for them next other than making me drool?

I like the looks of those a lot! What do you have planned for them next other than making me drool? lmao! I don't really know, I've cut a few cabs from some of the loose chalcedony floating around up there, but the limbs I like just as limbs. I've also found true blue chalcedony in the area which I call Cedar Wood Blue, although it's rare. On my last hike I found a hunk of tube stick agate and over the years I've found what I call cloud agate but I guess it's a plume. Here's some more pics so you can continue drooling lol!

Shelves of antique bottles and rocks - I like this lady! (and she figured out how to post pictures quickly) Welcome to the forum rheumtrucker You'll figure out that I'm the Curious George here, so I gotta ask... what does your user name mean? Nice looking specimens, thanks for posting them for us!

Amazing finds you have there. I am loving the blue its outstanding. I see you also collect bottles. I pick them up also in the creeks have quite a few old ones. Lots of interesting materials you have.

That agate chunk with the tubes really caught my eye.
I've seen some nice cabs made from limb cast slices - depends on what patterns you find inside (dendrites, permineralized wood, druzy, or interesting colors). For example, I think the piece with the botryoidal hollow might make a nice center in a cab design. I usually am not even tempted to cut ends off pieces with exceptionally well-preserved exterior wood features (I see them as little natural sculptures no differently than some would keep pieces of art). They are endlessly fascinating, cut or not.
Have you seen any of the "Echo Mt. Stone" lava casts from south of Tule Lake? I haven't seen this at shows for years, and I think I only have one left in my little collection. They let a few clubs in years ago to take pieces, but I don't know if they've allowed any digging since (the owner died sometime back). I probably can dust it off and grab a photo if you don't recall this very different, glassy take on limb casts.

Thanks rheumtrucker, you have accomplished your goal of making me drool even more. That blue is just unbelievable in color and without flaws. Now I have to look up just where you said you find this kind of material.

Great looking items. I am with you that some finds are just meant to stay as found and not cut.
