My drills did not last so long, but I had my speed too fast. I would need to try again. THis was core drills of over 1: in size. regular diamond drill bis might work better.
I am real impatient with drilling time, and I think I will ordered a slintered bit that can handle very hard materials.
Drilling medallions is not at the top of my project list right now. More focused on grinding and face polishing. It is always somethign.

BUT, they do have 8" diamond coated metal wheeels for $55 dollars. This is a lot better than $150.
Does anybody know how these hold up?

I bought some drill bits a few weeks ago from Richon Tools. I like the bits so far. When I bought them I got a few sizes but one size I wanted wasn't listed on the web site. When I ordered I mentioned the missing size so they sent me five of them for free with my order. I thought that was great!

I was looking at their 8" wheels too Debs. Trouble is, they are only 1" wide and I can't figure out why they should be $35 s/h on them??? Might have to look around at their site a little more. Maybe I am missing something. Bill

For Christmas I treated myself to two 6" diamond wheels from Richon(120 and 220, I think). One was round and the other was about an eighth or so out of round, a bit ovalish. They replaced without a fuss. I like them so far. Since these are my first diamond wheels, I cannot remark on how long they hold up, but I am satisfied enough to doubt I will ever buy a carbide wheel again! Delivery from Hong Kong does take longer so plan accordingly. If I remember I think they have two different wheel types; plastic hub and metal hub. The metal hub cost more to ship. csroc
