Found a website with a bunch of rough, but wanted to warn at the same time. MSI has large amounts of rough available by the pound. Much of it very inexpensive - such as malachite for $10 a pound and tigereye for $6 or 7.
So I finally put in my first order just after Christmas. It took several weeks to get the order. It included several types of rough, and all but one came in light on weight. But what bothered me the most was that I ordered 5 lbs of star garnet, but they sent me regular garnet - not so good for tumbling.
So I called them and they used the excuse that all their experienced help had just left and new people had packed my order. They offered to exchange it at my expense for shipping. I asked to speak with the owner and they finally agreed to reimburse my shipping with additional rough. So I returned the rough with a very detailed letter explaining my complaints regarding wrong rough and light on the others.
Several weeks later, I finally get my return order. They sent me the wrong stuff again. No additional rough to make up for what was light in my original order - or to reimburse for shipping.
Called them again. Listened to more excuses about inexperienced help. So I sent the stuff back once again. Just got the corrected order today. They almost got it right. This time they sent the star garnet, but it was mostly the small size rather than the large size I had ordered. They did include a few extra pounds of rough to make up for some of the postage. But no mention of my complaints of light shipping, no letter, no apology, just the rocks.
A very frustrating experience overall, but I'm done with it.
This may have just been a lot of bad luck for me so you may still want to check it out, they have a lot of great rough I haven't seen anywhere else - just beware:
