Is this a bone or a pet wood? Recent find. Showed to a good friend who has masters level college geogology classes and he was stumped. Once again, sorry for the bad photos. Size is about 3” long. Interior is much more maroon than shows on photo. I put it next to pet wood and a bone and I do not know what to think. Any input appreciated. Found in Central WI. Thanks

Does an end grain look like bone? Might need a fresh cut if its weathered.

I wouldn't rule out fossil algae/stromatolite. I agree that cutting a couple faces/windows might help see more features.

The stromolite makes sense. Just knew it was not a "regular" rock.

I'm a beginner. I see nothing. Can wait to see polish and see what I'm leaving in the field!!
