I like doing these for big stones. This is a big cab- 60mm long. Thanks for looking.

Um, you can't just tease with the gorgeous front and not show the mysterious back. Unless it's done with magic then you get a pass. The concentric curves over the face of the stone are really nice.

But, I don't like to do it and it reeeeaaaalllyyyy hurts my hands. Doing a woven bail is about as much as I can do without a lot of pain. Plus, it takes a lot of patience. To me, it is very boring.

I love your hidden bails! The Crayola Jasper and shape is perfect. I never tire of seeing your master pieces.

I agree with you on all counts, especially the boring. I've seen some wire weaving that's thru the roof, amazing, with several types of gemstones, and was told they took a very long time. And they come with a very hefty price tag as well. I met a guy who does this, his stuff is astonishing.

I did a couple abbreviated ones that I called talismans. That's just too much weaving for me.

I don't like the weaving either. I'm not good at it for one thing and for another it takes so dang long to do and so much wire that it just doesn't seem worthwhile to me. I prefer to let the stone show rather than cover it with wire. I do admit there is definite art in doing that weaving.

Actually, after seeing the tute, it is really pretty simple. It looks like a puzzle until you see how it's done. I forget the author of the tute, but it's real old. She was basically the first to popularize the style. The backs are hella messy, which is a big turn off for me. But, it can' be avoided, I guess.
