How DARE you come on here and call a respected member a jerk? You won't answer emails but take the time to reply on a message board? Well you won't EVER get any of my business and I'll make sure to let all my friends know about you. Just remember, one upset customer will do more bad press for you than a 100 happy ones.

Xena - People who feel attacked often strike back - even if there was some basis for the attack. It is basic psychology. (So is rushing to the defense of a friend.)
Folks -
TheHawk was right, that bit at the end did not help anything, but there were some good points just prior. We have to be honest and acknowledge that Dan's post was not so much to communicate or resolve or inform but to take a good solid angry kick at NMOnyx. Even Dan has owned that anger from other parts of his life seemed to have leaked in. And yes, we can say that NMOnyx's response was less than ideal; but there should still be some basic respect for ALL board members. Lets try to stop at pointing out what was unhelpful or unnecessary and not go on to threaten a guy's livelihood.
The focus should be on resolution or de-escalation - or at least civil restraint. Lets all take a deep breath and think about how we want RTH to be. Lets not chase each other away. Lets be the best rockhounds, and the best people, we can be.
Peace

I agree on all posts. Though angry is self evident in the original thread, it is so in the responds from the seller. If it was my name, and i felt the original poster, was jumping to conclusions. Then I talk to the group moderator or owner, to have the thread removed. But by all means, i would respond to it myself if it wouldnt be removed. But In that responds remember how active, and how many members are here to read. As a buyer, no matter how in the wrong they may be, shouldn’t be called names in public. AS that will always result in the name caller being the one who will get noticed, not the buyer. And as a ebay seller, one can simply block anyone they choose from buying or bidding on items. just my 2cents

Lets try to stop at pointing out what was unhelpful or unnecessary and not go on to threaten a guy's livelihood. Peace Sorry, gotta disagree with you on this. If as a vendor, a person's livelihood is threatened because of bad behavior or bad customer service, maybe they will think before they act. I'm not saying Dan was in the right. I'm just saying that if a person is making a living and upsets their customers or their customers friends etc, they can expect to see a consequence. I think the chance of losing their livelihood might make them wake up and either fix the problem whatever it may be or at least not call people names. I mean if Shawn from the Rockshed for example did that sort of thing, we would all have something to say about it.
