I believe it's agate and jasper. Those pictures are wet to show the colors. I can do a dry picture if that would be better.

I'm open to offers on origin and id unknown!

How do you get the best pictures?

How do you get the best pictures? If you got a point and shoot camera, there should be some modes that can help with clarity and zoom. Try to take pictures in sunlight, or near sunlight.

How do you get the best pictures? Sunlight helps. Shade is helpful too. No matter the camera. I assume you are using a phone cam or a point and shoot.

Rebecca Where are you? Pics 2-3 look like they could be coral from the deep southeast.

I'll get pictures in sunlight tomorrow. Thanks for all the pointers. I'm very open to constructive criticism- it's the best way to learn and improve!

Much better pics.
Are those local finds?

I'm guessing some Florida (south Alabama?) calcite in that group. Especially the "beast". Probably the last pic too.

Much better pics. Are those local finds? I didn't find them (though I'm ready to start!). So, I'm unsure origin. And thank you - I took your advice!

Rebecca,
Try scratching the last two for Bob. He is pretty amazing at sussing out calcites and a knife scratch and an acid test will guarantee he is right.

I tried scratching all the pieces with part of broken glass and it didn't scratch any of them. I don't have acid to test with? Any other suggestions?

Quartz doesn't scratch it or a butter knife but a screw does
