What is the name of the green stuff you sometimes see in Sonora Sunrise? I have it on the tip of my brain and it is driving me insane. I tried some google foo, but I couldn't find it.

I have no idea, but let me name some green rocks for you, maybe one will ring a bell. Moss agate, aventurine, mariposite, serpentine, jade, pyroxene, olivine, peridot, prehenite, malachite, varsicite

Thanks! No, not chrysocolla or any of the others. I think it starts with chalco something or another. It's absolutely beautiful. I've seen it a bunch in sonora, but it's supposedly real rare to do so. It's like a bright pea green and probably some kind of copper mineral.

it is primarily chrysocolla and cuprite Yes and tenorite (though some people say it's manganese). Sometimes you see some bright green in it.

Conichalcite is new to me. Is seems fairly macro crystiline. Are you sure it is in Sonora material?

I have seen it cited by a reliable source before, but couldn't find it again. This is sonora sunrise. It came form a typical slab of it. The dark line is hematite or something like it. Shiny black.

Absolutely gorgeous. Wow! I'm not buying iron ore in that sample. Sorry. It's Covellite or something similar. Simply must be copper ore making all those colors. Congratulations on an awesome purchase. I envy you sometimes!
