Hi all. I'm not one to bash a company for a problem, but this is one time that has just gotten a little out of hand. About a month ago I ordered a cab preformer unit from Graves. After waiting 2 weeks for delivery, I called them. I was told then that it would be another 7-10 days as they had lost all their machinists. Well, even though this wasn't my problem, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said okay. Well, I called them again today and was told that they couldn't promise anything, that it could be another 2-3 weeks, but even that could be too soon to say for sure. I was given the option to cancel my order and I probably will if I can find another outlet for this item. I just don't think that their employment problems should become my problem. They have my email address and it would be nice to keep me informed of the status of my order. The girl I talked to today gave me the impression that they don't really give a crap about the individual who places an order with them. Anyone else ever have any problems with them?

Thats to bad. Your right, if they can't keep employees that isn't your problem. Tell them you are going to post about your situation with them on the internet, on the biggest rock forum there is, here, if they don't get your item out to you, and with free shipping. Then send them the link.

I'd cancel it Ed. The fact that they can't keep their employees tells me that there is probably some serious "quality" problems to go along with it. Unless it's a cheaper item, I wouldn't take the chance, at least not now.

I've found the item on other websites but I have to contact them to see if they have them in stock or if they have to get them from Graves.

I'm with Cher. If they lost all their machinists how good can their product be? Somethings wrong here. Umm, what is a cab preformer unit?

Thanks for the info John. It just seems like they don't really care to do business with the little guy. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and cancel my order for sure.

You ought to see what it is like getting contractors in Floriduh. What you went through is one of the reasons we do not have any employees here. On the other hand, a person who follows through here, will get more work than he can handle. One of the reasons our shop hit it from day 1 down here. I have a preformer. I am not all that impressed. I have found it faster to outline grind than to use the machine.

i just got the new Diamond Pacific catalog in the mail today, they have nothing similar to the Graves preformer....i must say the new Bigfoot looks like a well designed unit! a lot more portable than the Genie...figures huh, Sands?
it's a shame a long time name like Graves is going down the toilet.

KD the bigfoot only has 4" wheels on it - it may be good for someone who isn't planning on doing a whole lot - although if given one I'd never refuse!

i like that big foot nice and portable but ya have to change the last two wheels when ya need them id go with a pixi before i bought that its small and the wheels dont have to be changed i allmost got a pixi but i thought the wheels would wearout faster being only 4 inches but if ya fig it out the 6 inch wheels are alot more money so it would have prob worked out about the same for $/wheel life
