Okay, so I found another place that sells these things. Amlap.com. I sent them an e-mail last week asking if they had them in stock or if they have to get them from Graves. I finally got a reply from Amlap today telling me that they were just informed by Graves that production on the preformers has been suspended for at least a month. I'm glad Rallyrocks let me borrow the one that came with his grinder, cuz I think I'm gonna be an old timer by the time Graves gets their shit together. The order has been cancelled and I will never buy anything from Graves.

That's too bad. Everyone seems to like them, but they seem to be falling apart. Bad management, I guess.

Maybe, but their problems shouldn't become my problems.

You're absolutely right Ed, they should have never taken your order if they weren't able to fill it.

Maybe, but their problems shouldn't become my problems. They're not your problems as soon as you take your business elsewhere. Too bad it was such a long road for you though. That stinks.

Stoner,
is there something special about this thing? seems like it is just a way to hold a dop stick and follow a pattern on the grinding wheel. i would think you could make one easy enough you would just need to make a fixed guide bar that can be adjusted to be lined up with your grinding wheel and then a holder for the dop stick and pattern that can pivot in and out?
seems like a two hour project at most, unless i am missing something??
i just googled this thing, I'd make one but in a simpler form: rather than having to make a "chuck " to hold the cam i would make some special dop sticks that are threaded on the end opposite where the stone goes. then i would make a pivoting arm with a bushing in it to fit the dop stick, add a fixed guide bar to run the cam against. then you put the stone on the dop stick place stick through the bushing and screw on the cab shape cam and away you go.
i'll make it for you and send it your way if you give me a few dimensions off of your grinder.
good luck,
jerry

Hey Jerry. I actually was going to make something like you describe(I've got everything for it in my garage) but thought that I'd take the easy way out this time and just buy it. Rallyrocks had one on his grinder when he bought it and is letrting me try it out to see if I like it, but thanks for the offer.
