Found this in the agate/jasper bin at a rock shop . It is about 2x4 inches x about 4 inches of pretty lavender colored agate . Wondering if anyone could tell me what part of the world this might have come from . Thanks All

I thought burro creek at first, too, but the more I look at it the less I think so. Mexico has a lot of purple agate. That's about all I got.

I've seen some purple agate from Mexico called Sponge Agate (pretty sure) that had a look similar to that. Not exactly the same, but who knows....

I will try to research it a bit more and see what I come up with . It appears pretty solid except for that ugly spot towards the right side so I should be able to get some nice pieces from it .

I think the three of you that gave responses should confer and agree on an id for this newbie . Or just make up some off the wall name for it , that would be easier . Something exotic maybe .

Its origin is a closely guarded secret, but is rumored to be in the forbidden highlands of Inner Mongolia. Now that you have been chosen by the Oraclestone, you must be tested and found worthy of its great and awesome power.
