Very cool. Would love to see more sphere making posts on here. Intriguing stuff for those of us that have never seen it in person.

I'd kill for the space for a sphere machine. (where the noise wouldn't disturb the wife unit) Should anyone be thinking ... oh just make some room. You simply can't understand!

And daytime city code regulations say a certain amount of noise is allowable. Use that as leverage... Lol jeannie is traveling this weekend. I plan to organise and make room in the workshop (garage). Maybe even set up the second sphere machine. Most important, I will park my car back in the garage. Where the heck does someone store 2 piece of 6" pvc pipe that are 10' long?

Where the heck does someone store 2 piece of 6" pvc pipe that are 10' long? On the side of a wall or fence. Get some hooks like folks use to hang bikes to store them or better (cheaper) yet, make your own holders out of wood and mount to the back side of your garage. HD probably has some shelf hanger/supports/brackets that would work.

I'd kill for the space for a sphere machine. (where the noise wouldn't disturb the wife unit) It ain't that loud. I had four 15 lb tumblers running on a shelf out on my screened in back porch. They were outside the window of the room where the boss lady does her meditation/yoga crap in the morning before I get up. I now have three 15 lb tumblers running in MY BATHROOM. And only two left running out on the porch. Tumblers bothered her. No way a sphere machine is gonna fly out there. She studies in that room in the evening and on weekends. Guess if I only used it when she is at work.... hmmm How dirty do these things make the nearby surrounding area? < wandering off to eyeball the porch again > need that damn house with the 4 car garage in the backyard... which BTW, sold for 35k over our offer I woulda paid that, wife unit said no - too high. *sigh*

I've seen welding (brazing?) rods with diamond in them and the cups are made or renewed with fresh diamonds using these rods by doing a bead around the lip of the cups. ETA: Diamond Brazing Rods user.xmission.com/~ranthon/lapidary.htm

After we just made some room.. about 10 time and are out in the yard.. Then its time to build or move. The neighbors hate shipping containers. grin

The neighbors hate shipping containers. grin Thought about burying one in the FRONT yard for a shop. No room in back yard since I built the pool for the dogs. Would have to take down two oak trees to do so. Wife (see... it's ALWAYS her nixing my ideas!!) frowned on my plan. Had all the details figured out too! Needless to say, I don't have a shipping container buried in my front yard. *sigh*

Hella deal Bob, Never imagined that was possible. Welding on diamonds. Ever priced grinding cups? Buy the sphere machine and ya still gotta spend big bucks on the grinding cups. Homemade ain't as pretty, but they seem to work. More on interwebs on the subject for those that care to search. Amazing what ya can find on the web and youtube.

I made my own diamond brazing rod once. 100 grit cut very slowly and left a prepolish finish. If I did it again i would use 30 grit diamond.
