Now don't laugh , not on here anyway , but here is the grinder I put together . It has 10 tile saw blades stacked with cd spacers which comes to a bit over an inch wide on the left side . On the right side is worn down 100 grit Sic wheel that I will be replacing with a diamond wheel when I finish it off . Sits on an old gas grill stand for portability . The water pans drain into a piece of J channel and into a bucket . Water comes from the little garden sprayer . my version of an adjustable motor mount Thanks for looking .

cool gizmo! I've seen one similar in action at Rockmanken's place and they will flat take off excess material! I have not seen Ken on here in a long time, but ran into him at a rock show a couple of weekends ago

is it 1 cd between each wheel? what size blades? and what rpm? Yes , one cd between each blade , there is only a slight space between the blade edges . I used 7" blades , $7 a piece on ebay . Right now it is at 1725 rpm , but I have a variable pitch pulley on the motor and arbor so it can be tweaked if needed . I just rolled it out yesterday so I don't have much wheel time but I will say that it takes off material off quick .

I have a 1/3 hp on it , seems to be enough . Does start up a little slow but I don't think a 1/2 would get rolling any faster , lot of weight to get spinning . Why buy more electricity than needed . If I had a capacitor start motor , I would have used that instead but so far this works .

I like it! No one is laughin' - seems I can't spell laughin' with a g at the end without getting a smiley thing - well done. Good use of an old grill cart, portable like that is a plus.
Want to know how long the pressure sprayer will feed water before it needs to be pumped up again.
You already have electric for the motor, so you could also use an aquarium water pump in a bucket of water to keep your blades and wheel wet. Things are pretty cheap and would keep you from having to prime the sprayer if that's a bother.

One or two pumps and it was good to go again . When my GF was on the other wheel and both valves were spraying I would give it a couple pumps at maybe a minute or so . Lot of this is temp til I get the bugs worked out . Aquarium pump is on the list of changes , not right away though .

I bought a lot auction with 13 new hf blades but they were mixed had turbo rims, continuous, and segmented. I was wanting to make up an arbor but haven't gotten around to it. this morning eyed up an old harbor freight 8" 3/4hp 3450rpm bench grinder. that I bought probably 10 years ago that the cheap wheels were so bad on that it vibrated the whole table I had it on. I just went out removed wheels and put 9 of them on it (wish the shaft was a tad longer)and fired it up almost no vibration. guess I'm gonna add some splash guards and have a grinder to preform tumbles soon.

I'm not sure but I think the higher speed might work a little better , probably use a bit more water also . My pans and guards are copied from lortones . But I think a round design for the guards might cut down on some of the splatter . Mine are made from an old semi trailer roof .

I think its an awesome set up. I am going to do one with a poly arbor I have sitting around. I second the aquarium pump.

I have a 1/2 horse motor sitting around. I like the blade stack for roughing down excess material. Now I can put it to good use lol

You are a clever fellow! I like seeing items used for something other than original use.
