I don't think its the greatest tumbler , just the biggest. In my opinion it has a design problem. It leaks all the time and makes a huge mess, you really have to watch it all the time. I stopped using mine because I think its a piece of s___t .When I bought mine they said they sent me the new design that didn't leak. They have been having a lot of problems with this design. and they redesigned it to fix the problem. When I got mine I think I got the new design. I complained to diamond pacific and they sent extra gaskets which really didn't make a difference. I am not sure if I got the new one or old one as I couldn't get a straight answer from diamond pacific. Really bad customer service. It was a waste of 700 bucks and wouldn't recommend anyone buying one. NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that Tony. For that kind of money can you demand that they send another new one so you can try again? It might be worth it!

That would be very disappointing! At that expense I would demand a new one or a full refund!

Or, possibly exchange it for a T36 or T40. It's hard to believe that Diamond Pacific is the same company that makes the Titan, Genie, Pixie, and Bigfoot. With the money those units cost, I would hope their customers don't have the same experience as with this tumbler.

Coffee, I read your other post and I just can't sell it. It was a gift from my wife for my b-day and it will just collect dust in the garage. If I had the option to exchange it for one of the other ones I would. but thats not a option with that company. I will never buy a diamond pacific product again. When I was running it, it wobbled back and forth on the base and was worried that it would fall apart. The base metal was really thin and cheap. plus it made a loud squeaking sound, I was afraid my neighbors were going to lynch me. After the posts I read about lortone going down hill in quality, it looks like diamond pacific is too. Its really sad.

I really don't blame you for the sentiments on the tumbler, Nephrite. At least it will remind you of how much your wife cares about you. As for Diamond Pacific products, I believe I'll pass on them as well. They really do offer some nice vibes designed by Viking and Geode Industries, but then I wonder about their quality too. Perhaps Covington may be the only company left that offers decent quality. I'll most likely opt for one of their products when looking for a new diamond unit.

does anyone know how much of their work they are outsourcing? I've seen some pieces of equipment, none of it to do with rocks but still..., that are now carrying a label saying either constructed in -name that country- of American parts. Or made in America of -name that country-parts. It does seem that when a company's product quality stats to go downhill it's usually because of an outsourcing problem. Now, I heard that a company, can't remember the name of it now, but the bottom line was that the company was starting to shut down all it's outsourcing and producing their product back in the U.S. and taking a hit on their profits. Initially I think they will lose a little bit of money, but in the long run won't more people start to use their product if they hear that they have stopped their outsourcing to bring it back to the States? Thus more profit eventually? If anyone knows the name of the company post it wont you? Otherwise we'll have to wait for the wife, she's the one that told me about it. But, wouldn't writing the company about their shoddy manufacturing plus the lousy customer service do more good than letting the machine sit in the corner? Especially after the company has said that they've had trouble with that machine?! I call them every day until you get total satisfaction. Let me tell you...THAT works!! My wife is the "Pro From Dover" when it comes to calling a company every day till she either gets what she wants or her money back.. I've seen her go up the ladder till she's hit a VP!! Talk about getting some action!! You should keep on trying. If the first person can't help you ask if their supervisor might help you. If that one can't help keep asking that same question till you've gone up the corporate ladder high enough to get what you want, and or need. Good Luck!

Greetings All,
Hey Nephrite sorry to hear about the poor quality tumbler and worse service from Diamond Pacific. I'm sure you've tried various things to keep the barrel from leaking, and without seeing how the lid fits onto the barrel I can't offer any intelligent advice. But I won't let that stop me ;D
I know with the Lortone QT12's the lip of the barrel and edge of the inner lid have to be completely dry and clean, any drop of water where they seal can lead to leaks. And of course over-tightening the metal lid can deform the rubber enough to cause a leak. For yours is it that the lid just can't be properly seated in the barrel? Is there any way to use something like a metal band around the outside of the barrel where it fits around the lid? Or maybe wax or parafilm to get a better seal? If you could at least minimize the leaking so that the barrel could run for a week without recharging you could get some use out of it. Of course that does nothing for the shoddy frame and squeaky rollers, but it sure is a waste not to get some use out of it.
For 700 bucks I'd be wanting to talk to the person who owns the company and letting them know about all the business they will loose by the negative advertising at this website and to all the rockhounds you will undoubtedly be telling about this. Good luck getting some kind of satisfaction.
