Got a real nice video if Youtube will take it. It's loading. Set tile saw table at 45 degrees, then tied it down to a table on it's side. Added drip on the now horizontal tuck wheel, motor stayed bone dry and so did I. Check em out, all Rio's at 1-2 pounds: the larger ones, that palm upper right will kill ya: ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4197/35375071876_54a345ae90_c.jpg) one pounders: ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4204/35247937682_2bcaea901d_c.jpg) This is the one done on the video. all these photos sucky as they were done w/video camera. Rio bleacher: ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4226/35375069656_e04d3b9ff9_c.jpg) Note good ole Rio bleached layer is gonzo 18 minutes later. Some kind of beautiful rock, nary a fracture far as I could tell: ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4212/35247936552_450cfa73ca_c.jpg)

Oh jamesp those are awesome. Get them tumbling. Nice colors, love the palm wood. I can't wait to rig one of these up for grinding. Think of all the grit and time you are saving. Rock on. Visualizing a grind guard for the blade.

Having difficulty with Youtube and Vimeo. They don't like long videos unless you upgrade the account. This may run, may start and stop. Anyway, I am using little pressure. Key to long life and safer operation. Guessing this wheel would easily do a thousand of these. Probably more with drip. That is the second rock, so getting used to the funky position. 18 minutes for that rock, the others went faster with the learning curve. The diamonds got better exposure as the sintering was cleaned away. Cutting rate increased. The drip is ~one drop per second, worked just as fast dry. Saw a square about 3" X 3" X 3" and I think a rough sphere is 20 minutes away. Next project. Without a doubt the fastest cutting wheel by a long shot. I was making 1/4" deep passes at a rate of 1 to 1.5 inches per minute. Chuck up a rock in an acceptable manner on a 1/8 to 1/2 RPM lathe and turn cylinders and spheres while watching TV in short order. Best I could do is a flickr link cut back to 3 minutes: www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/35416491285/in/dateposted-public/

I'll add, by the time several rocks were done I was rotating the rocks against the blade and fence in both directions and getting much faster and deeper grinds. The closer to round the faster and easier the process gets rotating rock against back plate and blade. Cobbles don't stand a chance, you will skin the trash off of them in short order. 4 inch cobbles where blade sticks out 2 inches, 2 inch cobbles where blade sticks out 1 inch. Or you can adjust height of blade to the size(curvature) of rock.
The edge of the wheel is the real work horse, not the flat surfaces. That's where the cutting gets done. The 45 degree angle is spot on. Diamond sinter is 1/4" X 1/2" cross section, so it's going to last a long time.
Bumped finger tip against wheel twice, no blood but much thinner skin. BE CAUTIOUS. Using rock against fence and blade increased safety factor many times.
