Howdy, Just a heads up. If y'all haven't read your Rock and Gem mag yet this month, the Gem Shop is having a great July sale for us tumblers. $35 dollar lots including free shipping in US. Seven different items including Indian green Moss, Pink Imperial Jasper, # 3 Agua Nueva, Wildhorse Picture jasper etc at one dollar per pound. Moroccan Agate, graveyard Point and Porcelain Jasper at $3.50/ lb and several more including red horn coral at $7.00/pound. With the free shipping these are all great deals! The ad says July only and check their website for details. I'm tempted as I love the Imperial and green moss to ad color to my mix......mel

Well, I got some of the African Queen. The slabs I posted a while back came from some of their rough. I can't know these pieces will be as good, but at $1/lb with free shipping, it is worth a shot.

Got my African Queen. It is OK for $1/lb, but it looks pretty low grade. No sign of white. I need to cut a few pieces and see if the centers are less drab.

I picked up a 35lb lot of pink imperial jasper, 5lbs of Queensland Agate - been wanting to try this for a while, got 5lbs of royal imperial jasper - $7/lb couldn't pass it up, and I got all that to give me an excuse to get some ocean wave agate (not on the sales list). Now I wounder if my wife will understand my reasoning.
thanks again mel, robert

I cut some of the African Queen tonight. It is nicer inside than I 1st thoguht. Still nothing like the slabs I cut last month, but hard solid cream and brown with many dendrites. After I cut a few more slabs I will post a picture. Very nices stuff for the price.

Redwood, it's gonna be a while before I go back th the G.S. They need to get some other employees before I get back up there. I'll go back to Cedarburg, to get our favorite wine, across the street from the G.S.

Received 35 lbs. of the Agua #3 Nueva (which is a mixture of the #1 and the #2) and 5 lbs. of Royal Imperial Jasper. Wow, it's been a long time since I've gotten a rock box in the mail. What a great time we've had out in the back yard with the hose and chisels and stuff all day! The Jasper is something I hadn't seen before, I really liked the contrast. The material I received is not top grade but it wasn't intended to be at that price ($35 for 5 lbs.) Was very pleased overall with the shipment, and really loved not having to pay postage! Both types of the Agua have been so fun to sift through, each is it's own little treasure. One batch is predominantly pink, the other varies more and has some crazy combinations. Hubby will take pics this weekend... no really... in between fishing trips I guess... UPDATE pics posted !
