An older Gent stopped by my shop today wanting to sell a huge lot of Turquoise cabs he cut years ago and never used. I have more than I can use in my lifetime, so I wasn't a buyer, but told him I would see if I could help him sell them. Most looked to be Kingman and Sleeping beauty with a few others thrown in and in a wide assortment of sizes. I saw no Morenci, Bisbee, #8, Dry Creek or other rare and pricey stuff, but his asking price was roughly $2.50 per cab. I took a couple of pics I will try to put up later tonight if photobucket cooperates. He said most of these were cut by him from material he bought in the 60's, so most is likely natural and not stabilized. I did see some cabs in the bunch that would easily be worth 30-50 dollars each, so you could set some and sell some and basically keep the good stuff and still recoup your outlay on the other stones Edit: He is not wanting to split them up, so the whole batch has to go as one lot. My bad for not posting this at the onset

</div></div>He isn't willing to split them up, so it's all or nothing. I only took a couple of quick pics with my phone trying to help the old guy out. If I had time, I would buy them and sell off smaller lots, but alas, the busy season is upon me in Branson and I am behind on orders already. sorry for the confusion as I should have posted that earlier. I edited the original post to reflect "as one lot"

Good call Lynn. Small investment for what you can turn it into.

I'm not asking how much you paid as that is none of my business, but should I ever hit the bigtime what should I expect to pay for a lot this size?

That is some nice stuff. Quality looks great. Some appears to be from mines that are now closed. I would estimate retail value, pieced at at thousands.

He said he cut most of these in the 60's, so there is some good stuff in there alright. At a quick glance I did not see the really high dollar stuff like Bisbee, but then I did not even open the cases to take a closer look. Honestly, I was swamped yesterday when he popped in with them, so I had very little time to spend and get details. He and his wife are moving into an assisted living facility, so I told him I would try to help him move them

$2.50 per cab ... that's just a ridiculous asking price for these!
