Ricardo - Sorry about your bum deal with 'Tony'. NYC electronic shops have been shady businesses forever. Gray market goods, bait and switch, the list is endless. And they're pros at it.
How long were you in New York? I woulda come in, bought you lunch, talked agates, and 'picked' your suitcases.

I hate buying anything from NYC. I bought a very expensive 35mm camera package online from a big camera store in NYC a few years back and they swapped several lenses and the flash unit on me. I raised hell and eventually got the right items sent and I got to keep the junk they originally sent. Make em send you the computer you paid for and a return shipment label then return the clunker they gave you. Just keep buggin them and maybe they'll correct it. Hope it works out for you! -Dennis

File a complaint with the State Attorney General and the BBB. You could also file a lawsuit against this guy...but that would be costly. Pho

Well...the battery issue could be that it needs to be discharged and then recharged fully to work properly. Many new batteries will come partially charged and won't take a full charge unless they are discharged first. But on the other hand it could be a junk battery if they switched it on you. One other thing...$1152 is kinda low middle ground for a laptop. Top of the line laptops cost over $2000 with some approaching $3000 so there's some kind of misunderstanding on what you were purchasing in my opinion. Heck...when I bought my Sony Vaio a few years ago it cost me $1400 and it was their lower end model. I just needed something to run my telescope off of so I didn't need all the bells and whistles. Anyway...I hope you get this thing resolved and feel better with whatever you end up with. -Dennis

Did you get this in the retail box or was it just handed to you? Do you have something that tells you what was supposed to be in this system? Like...what processor, memory, hd size, all that stuff? What is showing up on the system are far as that stuff goes? You'll need all that information to get this resolved. You'll need to show what you were supposed to be getting and what you ended up with exactly.
