A little late but thought I'd post a few pics once I sort of figured out Flickr-hadn't used it in years. A few flowery shots from June 6 down at Red Canyon. P6060221 by FTW2007, on Flickr P6060223 by FTW2007, on Flickr P6060222 by FTW2007, on Flickr Rockslide in Wind River Canyon. Had a mess down there, they figure to have it all cleaned up by October. This was one of the small ones. P6060217 by FTW2007, on Flickr Snow on the Wind River Range taken near South Pass. Snowpack there was 200% of average. Rivers will be running high into August. P6060227 by FTW2007, on Flickr The old taconite mine near Atlantic City. P6060225 by FTW2007, on Flickr From the front yard, funnily enough taken on "Pride Day". Beautiful country but I sure would miss the trees . Nice country but agree with Rich. Need my trees like we have in Colorado. Got a great bunch of rocks, fossils and wood up there.

I'll echo Diane and say good to see you back Russ!
May I ask?
Those rolling grasslands are "the Rockies"?

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing! I sure do love Wyoming. I would just hate the winters. Thanks. Believe it or not, our winters here aren't that bad usually. Now last winter was about as nasty as we've had in a while, but a lot of times we'll go out after rocks all winter-as long as the wind is less than 80 mph. Just get on the lee side of the hill, it's not so bad. Russ

Beautiful country but I sure would miss the trees . For you and Coloadocliff-there are plenty of trees, just not many right there. The other side of that mine is pretty much trees all the way to Jackson, except for the chunk that burned a few years ago. Along that line, I actually grew up in the Northeast. Now I can't stand it-trees and little hills everywhere, can't ever see more than about half a mile at a time. Gets me all claustrophobic and stuff. Russ

I'll echo Diane and say good to see you back Russ! May I ask? Those rolling grasslands are "the Rockies"? Good to post something again, Scott. Technically yeah, that's part of the Rockies. The picture of the snow on the Winds? I disremember exactly but that was taken within a few miles of the Continental Divide. The highway there pretty much parallels the Oregon and Mormon Trails there at South Pass. Well over 7000 ' where I took the photo. Russ

I love the openness of Ponderosa Pine forest above all else. Like Pinyon trees more for collecting their nuts but a bit short and scrubby for me. My daughter lived up that way in Greybull, Worland and Cody for some years and I would go up one or twice a year. Wind River, Thermopolis, and Wind River. Got a speeding ticket south of Jackson one time.. grr. Do love that smell of the great forests of the pacific northwest. Dang you guys have great rock resources. And you can see your geology better.

Russ 3 weeks spent out in open Texas, back to Atlanta and felt immediate case of claustrophobia. Doesn't take long.

Nice pictures, glad to see you posting Russ. Hey Dianne, good to see you on here, hope you're doing well. Russ Doing fine here although I'm getting a case of cabin fever from having to hide out in the AC at my mom's place. I miss the smell of pines and the thrill of rockhounding.
