My local rock shop is dumping Mexican Fire Agate overstock for $150.00 for approximate 10lb bags (they said over 9lbs, less than 11lbs each). The bags are premade (just a paper bag) and there is no searching or cherry picking through them at the shop.
I took a chance and purchased a bag (see photos). The photos are wet/dry, but exactly as the agate came out of the bag. If the other bags are like mine, this seems like a acreaming good deal.
I can't guarantee what's in them, not allowed to search, but I can easily make more than $150.00 from what was in mine just selling it as rough.
As with all fire agate there is a lot of host rock that needs to be cut away and in my bag there is quite a bit of junk agate with no fire. But, there is also quite a bit of very nice agate.
They have 5 bags left and they are holding them today (7-18-2017) for me. If anyone is interested, send me a pm. I will drive up and pick up bags and mail them for cost. $150 + $18.00 for a large flat rate box. I think one bag may fill a large box.
edit: I can do this today, Sunday 7-18-2017 up until 5pm CST. I won't be able to go to the shop during the week and I leave for vacation Wednesday. Not much notice but I only found them for sale last night.
